Today I read “The Matchlock Gun” written by Walter D. Edmunds and illustrated by Paul Lantz. It was about a boy named Edward who’s family owns a big Spanish matchlock gun. One day Edward’s father has to go help fight in the war, he shows Edward how to load the matchlock gun, but when the Indians come, he has to fire it. It was very good and I would give it 5 out of 5 stars!
