1000 Bouncing balls
Today I uploaded another blender simulation, I was able to use the particle systems physics to render the balls (instead of having to render 1000 Softbody UV spheres separately) but even still I averaged about 2-3 minutes of render time for each frame. (I tried to render 5000 Balls at once but our computer kept crashing around frame 55, so I had to settle with only 1000 balls. =(
Enjoy!
HD particle simulations
Here are the particle simulations that I posted about a few days ago, I was able to render them in HD.
Enjoy!
Blender 2.5 Particle Simulations
Here is a compilation of some particle simulations that I did in Blender, I goofed around with using different types of particles instead of just the “halo” default, and I think it turned out nicely. Although I rendered the clips in 1080p the editing program that I use wouldn’t let me export any video files with a resolution greater than 480×720. So here they are: (The clip of the cube falling apart isn’t a true particle animation, but I used the “explode” modifier to parent the vertices of the cube to the separate particles, so in a way it is).

1 Year Anniversary!!!
Today (Febuary 27) Is the day that we first created our Youtube channel 1 year ago!!
Lightsaber duel
This is our first film that actually has some (I think) realistic special effects in it, and although it could use some work, as Johns lightsaber is kind of jittery in the last ten seconds of footage and there aren’t any sound effects I still think it is still pretty cool. This is by farrrrrr our most effects heavy film, seeing as about 30 seconds of finished movie took about 8 hours to complete, versus a movie like “The rake” which took only 1 hour to complete. The footage is almost 3 months old but I just got up the courage to try to edit it last week.
So here it is:
Enjoy!
The Rocket car report
This is a video of Rachel riding in the “rocket car” that Luke and I made (if you’re wondering about the name we got it from “The Runner from Ravenshead”, a movie that John and I got everybody for Christmas.)
So here it is:
Hello!
Sorry that I haven’t posted in such a long time! I was working on a movie with some of the kids from our church, and so far we have got it through most of pre-production and I think it will turn out well. We also got over a foot of snow and have had a lot of fun sledding and throwing snowballs. We are planning more movies, and I want to try to make a much longer higher quality movie some time this year.
So please keep watching our movies and waiting for updates!

Bloopers
Here are some of the bloopers of “The Runner from the trenches”:
Since we did a lot more talking in this movie (compared to most of our other movies) we had a lot more slips(some accidental and some not), which is why the bloopers reel is so long(in proportion to the length of the movie).
Enjoy!
The Runner from the trenches
This is going to be the second movie that we have made that has all of the six sibs in it, it is also the first movie that has our tree fort and hole in it (“Isaac Bunker”) .
The audio is pretty horrible because it was very windy the day that we shot most of the footage and the camera is a little bit wobbly at times because I lost the screw that hooked our camera to the tripod but I still think it is very good. It’s kind of a combination of “The case of the missing cheese” and “Isaac bunker”.
So enough talking- Here is the movie so you can see it for yourself:
More movies coming soon!
Sorry that we haven’t made any movies for such a long time.
It’s crazy to think that we “founded” SixSibs Media almost a year ago, and now it’s 2011 and we have made over a dozen (very) short films to date. We officially started SixSibs in January of 2010 (although we didn’t actually call it SixSibs until February) after that everything is history.
I am currently working on editing a movie and it will (hopefully) be online in a few days, We also have a few unedited films worth of footage that are waiting for me to edit and add visual effects.
So look forward to more (hopefully) great movies in 2011!
The Six sibs.
Rachel’s biography
Rachel
“The only actress of SixSibs Media”.
by Adam and Luke
Rachel was born many, many moons ago(119 to be exact) in a city in Missouri, and for the first few years of her life she lived in a small house with a little yard, but at the tender age of 4 her family packed there bags and headed to the country where there was much more room for Rachel and her brothers to play. Rachel and her brothers went on all sorts of adventures and built all sorts of things, including several go-carts a tree fort and a little town called “Boot hill” (they later tore down some of the town to build the tree fort). About 8 months ago Rachel and her 5 brothers made a movie company called “SixSibs media”. Since then they have become world famous, made millions of dollars ( not quite) and have made more than a dozen short films. Rachel is the only girl in SixSibs Media group and she usually plays the role of the “Lady in distress”(although she has also played a detective,a stunt driver and a normal girl). She also enjoys contributing to our bloopers reels. You can see Rachel acting in lots of the movies that SixSibs has made.
Adios.
Thanksgiving webcast
Scholastic is doing a live webcast at Plimoth Plantation to commemorate the first Thanksgiving. We watched it live yesterday, but it is now available to watch any time you want, I would highly recommend watching it, to watch it click here: www.scholastic.com/scholastic_thanksgiving/webcast

Stunt movies
YouTube was wrong! It didn’t take 19 hours- It took 36! But we were finally able to upload Stunt movie # 2 along with Stunt movie #1 :

Run to the lights
Luke, Rachel, John our Dad and I ran the Run to the lights 5 K at Silver Dollar City on Friday, it was very fun (and exhausting). For all of the race times click here: ridgerunnersports.com

Argh!
I am uploading a sequel to Stunt movie #1 and this is the the time that it is supposed to take before it is on the internet:
Argh! At that rate it will take 19.183 hours before it is fully uploaded.
Do I really look like that?
And this is what Rachel thinks I look like:
The road not taken
Two roads diverged in a yellow wood,
And sorry I could not travel both
And be one traveler, long I stood
And looked down one as far as I could
To where it bent in the undergrowth;
Then took the other, as just as fair,
And having perhaps the better claim
Because it was grassy and wanted wear,
Though as for that the passing there
Had worn them really about the same,
And both that morning equally lay
In leaves no step had trodden black.
Oh, I marked the first for another day!
Yet knowing how way leads on to way
I doubted if I should ever come back.
I shall be telling this with a sigh
Somewhere ages and ages hence:
Two roads diverged in a wood, and I,
I took the one less traveled by,
And that has made all the difference.
Robert Frost
There are lots of people who take “The road more traveled” but it is the people who take the other path that have great success. think of it: all of the really “successful” people do something totally different, something that no one else has thought of before. Apple didn’t make a killing off the iPhone because it was just like everything else around, they did something different. John Moore didn’t win the $101,000 grand prize at the SAICFF because his film was like every one else’s. So if you want to be successful (doesn’t everybody want to?) then don’t do what everyone is is doing or has done, take “The road less traveled”.

My passport to India
For the last five weeks our family has been watching a series of videos called “My passport to India”.
We have really enjoyed watching them and are going to donate some money to Mission India to help teach children about Jesus, it only takes a dollar to send a child to a bible club where they will be able to hear the gospel, many of them for the first time, and many of them for the only time, and if you donate before November 17 Sonlight curriculum will double your gift, so that means that with the matching gift it will only take 50 cents to send a child to a bible club. Think of it, 50 cents could mean the difference between eternal life or death for a child in India.
Considering the fact that there are over 1.4 billion people in India and 830 million of them are Hindus I think it will be money well spent.

Good free software
Here is some software that I thought was very good, I have used them all before and I use most of them on a regular basis (I don’t use Windows Live Movie Maker very much because we have a better (and more expensive) video editing program at home). I hope you’ll be able to use at least one of these programs and all of them but Blender are pretty intuitive (there are lots of online Blender tutorials- for some good ones click here ).
Here they are:
Recording and editing sound and sound effects
Visual effects, logos, and computer animation.
Picture editing, and image creation.
Video editing and some visual effects.
Fall fun #2
Here are some more leaf pile stunts that we have done,The leaf pile that we are jumping into is a combination of leaf pile #1 and leaf pile #2 with some other random leaves that we raked up from around the yard.
Enjoy!
The rake
This is our first movie that has a true “fight scene” in it, it’s not the best quality but for a movie that only took about thirty minutes to do from start to finish I think that it turned out very well.
Here it is:
Fall fun!
We were able to combine work and play by raking leaves!
Here is a video of us doing some stunts:
P.S. (Isaac thinks that Luke and I have some kind of anti-gravity machine.)
