Jtd 2

We still haven’t started on “John the Detective 2″ yet! We have two reasons: #1(and most important) we don’t have any more tape (we burned through three mini DV tapes on our trip) and  secondly I have plenty of post-production work to do editing together said three hours of footage without throwing in another “feature” film into the mix.
So hopefully we’ll start on “JTD2″ sometime this summer (I won’t name a date because something will be sure to knock it off schedule if I do) and all of our (adoring?) fans will be able to watch it.
Thank you for reading,
Adam

John’s Debut

I said we’d be posting more videos and while this one might not be all that informative I promise it’ll be entertaining!
I hope you enjoy it!

We’re back!

We just got back from a 2 week trip to Boston,Gettysburg,Washington DC and the Creation museum we had a lot of fun and I recorded 3 hours of video – so expect some (hopefully) interesting, entertaining and informative videos to arrive on our YouTube channel soon!

Thanks,
The Six sibs

Update

Hello all!
It rained a lot yesterday so we probably won’t be able to do any outside movie work for a few days, until then we will keep revising the script, doing school-work and playing 4-square in the garage.

John the Detective 1 Bloopers

Here are (some) of the bloopers of JTD 1:
Enjoy!

JTD 2 Update

We finished building the prison yesterday (if you will look in the pictures that I posted yesterday you’ll notice that our “sleeping quarters” didn’t have much of a roof and there wasn’t anything keeping the “prisoners” from escaping).
(From now on I will be referring to “John the Detective 2″ as “JTD 2″ most of the time).
Thanks for reading,
Adam

Set Shots

Here are some pictures of the (unfinished) prison that we are going to use in “John the Detective 2″
The lighting isn’t very good but I hope you’ll be able to get an idea of what it will look like.

John the Detective 1 Extended Edition

The longer version of “John the Detective 1″ has just finished uploading!

I hope you enjoy the different ending.

Extended Edition

I am now uploading the Extended edition of “John the Detective”!
I hope you will enjoy it!

John the Detective 2!

We are currently working on building sets for John the Detective 2! At the moment it looks like it will be our longest movie yet.
I am also working on re-editing John the Detective 1 since there was quite a bit of left over footage that I either didn’t use or couldn’t use because my VFX skills weren’t quite up to snuff.
Thanks,
Adam

Army Men

Yes!!!!!

I am Uploading “Army Men” so hopefully you will be able to watch it in a couple hours!
Adam

Army Men

Sorry I haven’t given any updates but “Army Men” should be done soon.

“Army Men” Screenshots

Here are some screenshots from “Army Men”:

VFX done!

I’ve finally gotten the visual effects for “Army Men” finished! Now all that’s left is to record all of the dialogue and  we’ll be done! Thanks for reading our blog,

Adam

Production done!

I was able to finish shooting all of the pictures for the stop motion movie yesterday! Luckily it warmed up during the morning and early afternoon so that the snow was almost completely gone by the time we were able to go outside, so hopefully I’ll be done with the post-production in a few days and the movie will be made public to the world!

Stop-motion movie

I have been trying to do some filming for our army figure movie, but it just hasn’t worked out! First it rained, then we left for two days, and now it’s snowing! I’m trying to do as much of the post-production as I can (although it’s kind of hard to do visual effects for a scene that you haven’t shot yet). I’ll try to keep you posted on any further developments.

Adam

4404 Army Men

That’s right! 4404 Army Men (I only took a picture of 6 and then multiplied them). We are planning on doing a stop motion Army Figure video, and since we don’t happen to own such a huge number of Army Men I decided to go the cheapskate’s route and just duplicate them on the computer.
You can click on the picture to get a full screen view of the massive army.

Explosions!

Here are a few more particle simulations that I did:

Movie making Lesson

Here is the video of a “lecture” that I gave to some of the boys at our church,I have had the video clips put together for about 2 weeks but I was just able to find the right time record it this morning(it’s kind of hard to record audio around our house because whenever it’s quiet (early morning, late night) it usually needs to stay quiet and whenever it doesn’t need to stay quiet there isn’t usually a solid 5-10 minutes of total and complete silence.)The movie making lesson was the longest “speech”(at about 10 minutes) that I had ever given (although having movies to show helped cut down my actual speaking time). The movie version isn’t near as long(less than 5 minutes)
because I did most of the talking in my lesson after I showed the movies, where here I do a lot of the talking during the movies, I also had a question and answer time afterward. The movie version was kind of crazy at times because I put together the movie clips before I recorded the audio, so sometimes I was kind of rushed. I hope you learn something about how we make our movies!
So here it is:

1000 Bouncing balls

Today I uploaded another blender simulation, I was able to use the particle systems physics to render the balls (instead of having to render 1000 Softbody UV spheres separately) but even still I averaged about 2-3 minutes of render time for each frame. (I tried to render 5000 Balls at once but our computer kept crashing around frame 55, so I had to settle with only 1000 balls. =(
Enjoy!

HD particle simulations

Here are the particle simulations that I posted about a few days ago, I was able to render them in HD.
Enjoy!

Blender 2.5 Particle Simulations

Here is a compilation of some particle simulations that I did in Blender, I goofed around with using different types of particles instead of just the “halo” default, and I think it turned out nicely. Although I rendered the clips in 1080p the editing program that I use wouldn’t let me export any video files with a resolution greater than 480×720.  So here they are: (The clip of the cube falling apart isn’t a true particle animation, but I used the “explode” modifier to parent the vertices of the cube to the separate particles, so in a way it is).

Enjoy!
